How do you take a Structural Insulated Panel or SIP ( panel shown in first picture) which can handle a 200 mph wind and can be turned into a 6,200 square foot replica of an Antibellum home. This is the new Office Bldg. for one of the oldest Tug Boat Operators in Southern Louisiana Bisso Towboat Co., Inc. For 200 mph you will need to use the 6" Ocean Safe SIP panel, a lot of steel studs and steel joists, you then must hire Comfort Engineered Systems, Inc to design the HVAC system to match this outstanding building to low energy needs and the HVAC systems. Because of the great insulation quality of the SIP panel with zero thermal bridging to deal do to the fact there is no framing lumber to bridge all that heat into the structure. So with our hot humid summers and because the SIP panel eliminates all that heat transferring through the lumber we are able to cool and heat this 6,200 sq ft. office building with only 6.5 tons. All the other Mechanical Engineers wanted to cool and heat this office bldg using 25 Tons. If you do not believe us ask Bisso TowBoat Co., Inc.

This is a wonderful example of Team work and believing that Engineering the project from the beginning is important. We completed all of the HVAC Engineering before a single trade set foot on site.

Once again Comfort Engineered Systems, Inc. as proven to be leader in the HVAC and Renewable Energy market.

Save Energy on Heating and CoolingBy Following these Simple StepsChange Your Air Filter RegularlyContaminates and material that is being removed from your indoor air is collect in the filters.  A dirty filter increases the energy needed to deliver warmth or cooling throughout your home or business.  It also becomes a breeding ground for bacteria and many known pathogens.  Thus replacing filters regularly not only promotes better indoor air quality (IAQ) but also saves energy and increases the life expectancy of your complete Mechanical System.

Check your Air Filter monthly and replace every 3 months regardless of visual cleanliness.  Comfort Engineered Systems offers worry free filter replacement scheduling through Southeast Louisiana.  Call us today to join our Customer Network and never worry about filter replacement or system cleaning again.Service and Clean your HVAC equipment AnnuallyBy simply cleaning the heating and cooling coils on your HVAC equipment you can increase the energy efficiency of your system dramatically.  Keeping the system clean not only increases energy savings but also increases service life of the equipment.

Comfort Engineered Systems offers EPA Certified Cleanings throughout the Gulf Coast.  Worry free scheduled service cleanings offer our customers peace of mind.  Proactive maintenance plans can be scheduled at your convenience for either in season or off season rates.  Please take a look at our EPA Certified Cleaning Program.Install a Programmable Thermostat Having a current thermostat with proper settings and controls saves consumers on average $180 a year.   If your systems does not have a Programmable Thermostat call us today and we can have one installed program the thermostat to meet your needs and schedule.Keep HVAC Equipment in Conditioned SpaceVery few people realize that keeping HVAC systems within conditioned space increases efficiencies by up to 50%.  All too often we see leaky improperly installed duct work in hot attics or run underneath houses to cut corners and installation costs leaving customers with phenomenally high energy bills.  By thoughtfully designing duct runs and air handling equipment to be contained within the envelope of the structure we also can drastically reduce tonnage and system requirements.  Consider this if you wanted to keep a drink cold you wouldn't place it in the sun, so why would you place your Air Conditioning equipment in a 150 degree attic?

Comfort Engineered Systems designs all of our installations on ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers) and EPA design standards to maximize air conditioning and heating efficiency.  This allows us to calculate the unique requirements for each HVAC system which include but are not limited to Solar Heat Gain, Thermal Envelope and type of materials the home is constructed of to ensure proper duct and equipment sizing.  Whether you are an Architect, General Contractor or property owner alike let Comfort Engineered Systems design and perform a J-load calculation on your home.  By doing so you ensure you are designing to the highest HVAC building standards and are living in comfort and the knowledge that you are saving against future increases in the cost of heating and cooling your building.Consider buying Energy Star Equipment

If you have older equipment or indoor comfort issue Contact us to professionally evaluate your HVAC equipment.  If the system is not performing efficiently or needs replacement consider only Energy Star equipment.  Through a complete diagnostic by Comfort Engineered Systems home owners save $100's and sometimes thousands off their annual heating and cooling bills.  Coupling the system with a Solar Energy System can produce a lifetime of energy needs and offers stunning returns on investment in excess of %400 in some instances.

Installing Energy Star Qualified Equipment is a great place to start.  Comfort Engineered Systems guarantees proper installation to the highest achievable certification level no matter which Green Rating or system qualification your project needs.  Comfort Engineered Systems is proud to save our customer on their utility bills and increase the life cycle of your equipment through proper scheduled installation, service and cleanings.
